Client: Fletcher Construction
Auckland Prison is rapidly changing, starting with the replacement of the 261 bed maximum security facilities. The rebuild of New Zealand’s only men’s maximum-security prison at Paremoremo is one of the area’s biggest infrastructure projects.
Actifurn has been involved at the Auckland Prison as a primary fittings and fixtures supplier for the past 17 months, with the actual fit out beginning November 2017. Actifurn sourced, supplied and installed over 6550 specified items. Some of the main products included chairs, tables, workstations, safes, lockers, cleaning equipment and general office equipment.
The size and complexity of this job meant communication was key in managing dynamic dates, specifications and additional items resulting from design development with the client. A plethora of additional scope was passed over to the Actifurn team working on this job and it was seen through with the upmost professionalism. Any difficulties that arose were quickly and effectively dealt with to a high standard.
The project is now successfully completed and here’s what Fletcher Construction had to say.
“Actisafe has been involved as a primary fittings and fixtures supplier for the Auckland Prison Project for the past 17 months. Under a Private Public Partnership contract, the scope of works and the resulting challenges filtered down from the interface partners to the Fletcher team and subsequently to our suppliers and installers.
It is enduring projects like this, where a person or company needs the right amount of grit, tenacity and effervescent attitude to see the project through- these qualitive characteristic undeniably sum up Actifurn.”
